Last updated: August 31, 2026
Welcome to Ravenwood Archive (“Ravenwood,” “we,” “us,” or “our”). These Terms & Disclaimer govern your access to and use of ravenwoodarchive.com, including its Archive Files, Original Files, images, reconstructions, written material, contact forms, and other content made available through the website.
By accessing or using Ravenwood Archive, you acknowledge that you have read and understood these Terms & Disclaimer.
If you do not agree with these terms, please discontinue use of the website.
Acceptance of These Terms
Ravenwood Archive is provided for informational, editorial, historical, cultural, entertainment, and creative purposes.
Your continued use of the website constitutes your acceptance of these Terms & Disclaimer, subject to any rights that cannot legally be waived under applicable law.
Ravenwood Archive may update these terms as the website, its features, or applicable requirements change.
The version displayed on this page is the version currently in effect.
Nature of Ravenwood Archive
Ravenwood Archive contains two distinct types of material:
Archive Files examine folklore, legends, reported encounters, cryptid sightings, paranormal claims, unexplained incidents, historical accounts, internet mysteries, and similar subjects drawn from real-world reports and available sources.
Original Files are works of fiction created for Ravenwood Archive and presented in the style of investigative or archival case files.
The existence of an Archive File does not mean Ravenwood Archive endorses, confirms, or certifies the paranormal, supernatural, cryptozoological, conspiratorial, or extraordinary interpretation associated with the subject.
The purpose of an Archive File is to document what has been reported, examine available evidence and explanations, distinguish established information from uncertain claims where reasonably possible, and preserve unresolved questions without presenting speculation as proven fact.
Archive Files and Real-World Accounts
Archive Files may discuss real locations, historical events, eyewitness reports, folklore, cultural traditions, published claims, public records, news coverage, or other real-world material.
Ravenwood Archive attempts to distinguish between documented information, later folklore, conflicting accounts, disputed claims, and unsupported details.
However, the subjects covered by Ravenwood frequently involve incomplete records, inconsistent testimony, retellings, uncertain dates, changing folklore, or information that cannot be independently verified.
Accordingly, no Archive File should be interpreted as a guarantee that every reported detail is historically accurate or objectively true.
Where reasonable explanations exist, Ravenwood may discuss them alongside extraordinary interpretations.
The absence of a definitive explanation does not constitute proof of a paranormal or supernatural cause.
Ravenwood Original Files
Ravenwood Original Files are works of fiction.
Original Files may contain fictional names, characters, locations, organizations, events, entities, evidence, photographs, documents, surveillance records, recordings, maps, witness statements, case numbers, timelines, or other narrative material created as part of the story.
Some Original Files may reference real cities, places, historical events, technologies, organizations, products, or other real-world elements for narrative purposes.
Such references do not mean the fictional events described actually occurred.
Each Ravenwood Original File is intended to include a fiction disclosure identifying it as an original fictional work.
If fictional material is shared outside its original page, readers should refer to the source page on Ravenwood Archive for its complete context and disclosure.
Reconstructions and Illustrative Images
Ravenwood Archive may use reconstructed imagery to visually represent reported creatures, sightings, locations, events, scenes, witness descriptions, or other material when authentic historical imagery is unavailable, unclear, inappropriate, or cannot be used.
Images identified as Ravenwood Reconstructions, Reconstructions, or similar labels are interpretive visualizations.
They are not photographic proof that the depicted event, entity, or scene actually occurred.
Reconstructions may be created using digital illustration, image-generation tools, photo editing, compositing, or other artistic methods.
When a reconstruction is based on a reported witness description, Ravenwood attempts to use the description as a reference while recognizing that any resulting image remains an interpretation.
A reconstruction should never be treated as original photographic evidence.
Historical and Documentary Images
Ravenwood Archive may also display historical photographs, public-domain material, government records, location images, archival documents, screenshots, maps, or other documentary sources where appropriate.
Such material may be labeled as Evidence, Source Material, Location Record, Archive Image, or similar terminology depending on context.
Ownership of third-party material remains with its respective copyright holder unless otherwise stated.
The appearance of historical or documentary material on Ravenwood Archive does not imply that Ravenwood owns the underlying source material.
Fictional Evidence in Original Files
Ravenwood Original Files may include fictional photographs, surveillance images, reports, drawings, diagrams, documents, transcripts, recordings, field notes, maps, or other materials presented as part of the fictional case.
These materials are storytelling devices.
They should not be interpreted as genuine evidence of actual events merely because they are designed to resemble authentic archival, investigative, historical, government, or documentary material.
Accuracy and Uncertainty
Ravenwood Archive makes reasonable efforts to research Archive Files carefully and to distinguish supported information from uncertain claims.
Nevertheless, errors, omissions, outdated information, conflicting interpretations, or incomplete information may occur.
Historical records may change as new material becomes available.
Folklore may contain multiple incompatible versions.
Witness accounts may conflict.
Dates, locations, names, quotations, and event sequences may differ between sources.
Ravenwood Archive reserves the right to revise, correct, expand, clarify, or remove material when additional information becomes available.
Corrections and credible research leads are welcome through the Contact Ravenwood page.
No Guarantee of Completeness
Ravenwood Archive does not guarantee that a case file contains every available source, witness statement, theory, interpretation, historical reference, or later development concerning its subject.
Files are editorial works rather than exhaustive academic databases.
A decision to omit a claim, theory, source, image, or interpretation should not necessarily be interpreted as a statement that the omitted material is false.
Editorial Judgment
Ravenwood Archive retains editorial discretion concerning what subjects are covered, which sources are considered useful, how cases are organized, which claims are included, how uncertainty is described, and when material is updated or removed.
Ravenwood may decline to publish material that appears unreliable, unnecessarily invasive, harmful, duplicative, unrelated to the Archive, legally problematic, or inconsistent with the site’s editorial standards.
Ravenwood may also revise headlines, excerpts, formatting, categorization, summaries, or case organization for clarity and consistency.
No Professional Advice
Material published by Ravenwood Archive is not professional advice.
Nothing on this website should be interpreted as legal, medical, psychological, financial, emergency, law-enforcement, investigative, scientific, survival, security, or other professional guidance.
Descriptions of unexplained experiences, alleged entities, rituals, folklore, dangerous locations, historical practices, or witness behavior should not be treated as instructions.
If you require professional assistance, consult an appropriately qualified professional.
Personal Safety and Property
Do not trespass, enter restricted property, enter abandoned buildings, violate posted warnings, interfere with wildlife, disturb archaeological or historical sites, enter unsafe terrain, or place yourself or others in danger because of information found on Ravenwood Archive.
A location appearing in an Archive File does not imply that the location is currently open to visitors or safe to access.
Conditions may change.
Property ownership may change.
Roads, trails, structures, caves, forests, mountains, waterways, ruins, and other locations may contain hazards not described by Ravenwood Archive.
Visitors are responsible for following applicable laws, posted rules, landowner restrictions, safety guidance, and local regulations.
Cultural and Folklore Material
Some Archive Files may discuss cultural traditions, religious beliefs, indigenous traditions, supernatural folklore, local customs, historical fears, or practices associated with particular communities.
Ravenwood Archive aims to present such material respectfully and in context.
The inclusion of folklore should not be interpreted as a statement that all members of a culture, community, religion, nationality, or region share or endorse a particular belief.
Folklore may change significantly across generations, communities, languages, and individual storytellers.

Unless otherwise stated, original written content, original case-file presentation, Ravenwood Original fiction, original graphics, site branding, Ravenwood-created reconstructions, logos, and other original material created for Ravenwood Archive are protected by applicable copyright and intellectual-property laws.

Ravenwood Archive does not guarantee attribution for every tip, correction, lead, or piece of research submitted.
